Bloggers

I am severely put out by your participation, or rather, lack thereof. I have only got six comments on the post concerning the baggy-pants issue. There are fourteen approved authors for the blog (besides Ned and I) and twenty-four pending invitations. That means that twenty-four of you didn't even bother to check the mail given to me to accept the invitation I sent you.
I am put out. This means that only eight people--I will assume Ned read at least one of the articles--were qualified to debate today. This is very disheartening, RLA.

Upset'dly yours,
Murphs.

PS: RLA, get some grammar skills! I think there are sign-language monkeys with better grammar than you.

Baggy Pants Laws

So loyal and not-so-loyal bloggers,
Lend me your eyes for a moment. This week's Thursday Debate is allegedly going to be on laws prohibiting baggy pants. Read at least one of the articles below, and make your decision, should there be laws against it? Freedom of expression? Decide and tell me!

Yahoo News

USA Today

Read that article and let it smash your brain atoms into knowledge and answer this for me...
What will ever happen now that the USA has been...well totally one upped by the UK in High-energy physics? High energy physics involves ripping atoms apart in long long long...14 mile long tubes that they call...Hadron Colliders by the way.

Today Jimmy Carter hopes to speak with Hamas officials in Egypt on issues to try to start resolving the Israeli-Palestinian conflict. For all who don't know Jimmy Carter is a past president and Hamas has been labeled a terrorist organisation by both the United States and the United Union. So read the article and respond if you think its wise for Jimmy Carter to hold a council with Hamas officials at this time.

THE POPE HITS WASHINGTON YAY!!!!...

Its a good day to be a Catholic... because this cool guy visited us in the holy United States of America. The Pope spreads love and compassion to all parts of America. So sing your Hail Marys you sinners and enjoy the sunny day God gives you.

Also for a bit of facts this is the 1st time in 26 years that a Pope has visited our Beloved America. hmm only 2nd time in history...interesting.

Mormons and shootouts...oh nos

Warren Jeffs, the so called "prophet" for some Mormons has followers all across America and even into Canada--but this comes with a price, the price to follow in the ways of polygamy. Soon after a phone call to authorities by a anonymous girl stating she had been abused by her "spiritual husband," a large police raid was called into actions that now is sparking controversy...So, after reading the article answer this question. Should the government forcefully disband a organisation because of a "single" abuse inside the organisation, only because of the idea of polygamy?

Fido!

Recently, I have watched the greatest independent film of all time...well probably not yet it was still rather good.

Fido is a very simple movie..."Space dust" is transferred to earth by unknown means and reanimates the dead turning them into zombies (this sparks a war that takes place of WWII.) The zombies ultimately loose and are fitted with colliers that repress there "must eat" instincts. The colliers enable them to be assimilated into jobs with no pay...(if you take away the colliers zombies sound like something else...hmmmm.)

Timmy Robenson's family just acquired a new zombie to help around the house, and soon Timmy falls in love with his new "pet" which he names Fido. Fido breaks out of his collier and kills a grumpy neighbor named Mrs. Henderson and Timmy must hide the evidence to the murder before poor Fido is sent away to the wild lands (a prison for zombies.)

The Movie takes place in a busy 50's era and the movie portrays that flawlessly (except of course for the zombies.)

Anyways the movie is rated "R" for violence and cannibalism...hmm probably so.

Zombies just want love too!

Boycotting China?

As you may have heard, the 2008 Summer Olympics are being held in Beijing, China. Many activists and politicians believe that it is the responsibility of the United States and other leading countries to boycott the opening ceremonies in order to send a message to China about their repression of civil liberties in their own country and their continuing mistreatment of Tibet.

Please read this article and answer the following question:

Should the United States boycott the opening ceremonies of this Summer's Olympics in Beijing?

Please defend your answer in 500 words.

Spring Break Narrative

Buenos Dias,

Webster's Dictionary defines the word "Narrative," as " A narrated account of a story."

Now that you have that concise definition freshly implanted into your twisted teenage brains, please
provide me a 500 word narrative of your Spring Break. The goal here is twofold: entertain me and use
proper grammar.

This is due by the end of the day.

Good Luck,
