There is alot of criticism about video games and music affecting kids.
People accuse video games and music of influencing kids to shoot up schools and now shopping malls.
Do you think that a simple song or video game effects someone to the point that they start killing?

No, I do not think video games can be seriously considered a cause for murder. Why do we always blame everyone and everything we can but we neglect to blame, the one person solely responsible for this, and that is the person commiting the act. How is it not te gunmans fault that he shot up a mall? Why is it a song or a game? No matter what people do to someone else, or what music people listen to, and games they play, it's only the person who commits the act that can change that.
Video games and and music don't necessarily implant the idea of public shootings, but they might give an otherwise too-scared kid the stabilizer--the push--that puts them over the edge, in the public place, with the gun and no more will to live. They'd probably all be better off as EMOs.
a word to use when one uses somthing to dump thier problems on, is Scapegoat: One that is made to bear the blame of others.
do you understand that violent video games and music are a great scapegoat for things that happen unaturally...i mean tv in the 50's was said to cause people to murder. so how is that any differant then violent games or music...take columbine shootings for example, the media stated that the game Doom and the music by Marilyn Manson caused the kids to want to kill innocent people. In all reality humans like the children in columbine were plauged with more pressing matters then the game Doom or the lyrics of Marilyn Manson.
I think video games and music make kids think killing and robbing is cool but there has to be something else to influence them like bad parents or something else in there life. Just hearing a few song or playing a game doesn't couse people to become killers.
