2008: Year of The Outsider?
Was it just me, or did yesterday seem to drag along slower than most Mondays?
And on another note altogether, John McCain can be one creepy looking dude. I realize that the man spent years being tortured and abused inside a Vietnamese prison, but come on. That's just eerie.
Anyway, for today's blog response, I'd like you to read this article from Slate.com on the unlikely similarities between John McCain and Barack Obama. After reading the article, please answer the following question in the form of a response to this blog. As always, each answer should be at least a paragraph in length.
1. According to the author, Jacob Weisberg, how are McCain and Obama alike?
2. Do you agree with him?
That is all. Have a productive morning,
-Ned-

McCain and Obama are the same in the fact that they are both anti-politicians, who say our system is broken and that they are the only one who can fix it. They both really were not recognized until their books were published a couple years apart.
I do not agree with him fully because in watching the primaries I have seen many different points in all the candidates and very few if any that are similar. They all show different things they will do for the country.
They are both talking about change in the white house. They are also focusing onthe younger people who are the future of the country. They say they will change the way the goverment is now.
I don't agree with the articale. They have a few things the same but those might just be things that they are saying to get votes. Lots of the politics have the some ideas on how to run the goverment. They realy don't have any thing in common.
The guy said they are both anti-politics. They both offer change, but so does every other canidate. He also hints at the fact that they have a similer fan base.
I disagree with the guy who wrote the article if you didn't know that already. The writer didn't even really say any similarities. They have almost nothing in common. OH wait, lets see:They are both human, they both eat food, and they are both anti-political politions and that is a physical imposiblity.
The article argues that Obama and McCain have some of the same fundamental views on politics. They both see the system as broken and believe that they are the best solution to fix it. They each want to change things in both parties. The most common factor between the two candidates is that they both want to see a significant change in Washington and both would be capable of doing the job.
