Thursday THROWDOWNS online (only)?

Because of the argument we are commencing on the blog right now, should we have all of the “Thursday THROWDOWNS” online?

Pointers:

1st It will be easier for people to talk without getting interrupted, with the addition of automatic turns.

2nd People will have more time to think and edit their ideas.

3rd The THROWDOWNS can last longer then 20-30 minutes (maybe the arguments should last until the next Thursday).

I think we should have them in the board room, and then continue it on the blog.

Buckethead, do you mean confirm the argument or have an argument in the board room?

Online debates lack interaction with other human beings and will not prepare us for life in the same way our traditional debates do, and don't tell me debates don't prepare us for life. The debates each use many forms of negotiation and they help us try to voice our opinions to those who don't agree with us in a somewhat civil manner.

Trogdor most of the kids at this school live behind a computer/cell phone i dont think yelling at eachother in person will make a difference in preparing us for life.

What I am saying is to have the Thursday Throwdown in the boardroom as usual, and then if some people still feel the need to argue (most people do), then continue it on the blog.

Of the most professinal opinion, I believe we should continue the thursday throwdown, but have some more online debates for the "master debaters" who would like to vote on new debates and continue others online. This is a chance for more debate action!

........whales.....soo......hummmm

As the admin (and paying attention to the vast comments in the previous throwdown proposal), I will place a poll on the side of the blog, above the rules.

(I also blog from home.)

But if we keep the debates online we won't be able to hear ourselves talk. I personally find the tempest of dialogue melodic.

Hey whaler, what do you mean by “master debaters?” I think creating *clicks is what we should avoid in this school, such as the “Xtreamous” click.

JuiceBx said...

No offense whaler, but you have been complaining about other people trying to make *clicks, but you, and all of the other Xtreamos, have made an official click that no one was allowed to join. The Xtreamos have meeting that no one was allowed to attend, and you’ve shared secrets that are keep away from the other school mates. Some of you have also claim to be the best students of the school, that goes to so that you are arrogant. The greatness you Xtremos members have claimed has failed to convince the mind of the students because of lack of work. It really gets me to see someone complain about *clicks when they have made one.

Jassem, we actually never had secret meetings or ever shared secrets with each other. I think everyone thinks that they are the best student in the school. And i have no idea what you are saying in the last 2-3 lines.
