So yesterday we answered the question on Capital Punishment and overall the responses were about the same.

Now I have heard a lot about religion the last few days and have seen how it could sway your answer. So I have a question for everyone!!!

Do you feel a class in Theology* should be added to a high school curriculum in the public school system as a elective? A required class?
Also do you think religion should be added to the way we make laws and carry out such laws?
Do you think that one religion should be used as a foundation for our culture?

Capital Punishment? More like Capital Party Time!

America already has an incredibly flawed penal system without the issue of Capital Punishment…

But that is not the question at hand, is it?

Since many of you have shown appeal for the death penalty, I suppose I could take the opposition. Death seems futile in such a situation. Sure, if a profound crime has been committed, justice should be served. But, what is justice? Does it come in the form of lethal injection? Perhaps, perhaps not. One, of course, can do more alive than dead. They could pay their debts to society by working and volunteering. I know that sounds like a light sentence, but think about it. Criminals could work in hospitals, factories, missions, jails; EST. Hell, you could donate your body to science! They could very well affect humanity in a positive way.

As you can plainly see, from the headlines on newspapers to breaking news on CNN, Capital Punishment isn’t promoting the decline of the crime rate. We have over two million citizens behind bars, more than any other country in the world.

It’s a crazy world we live in kids. Do we embrace it? Or do we reject it?

It is called Responsibility

Waterboarding is OK. If you have guys that are trying to blow people up with car bombs than I think it is a good none harming way to gather information. But abut the murderer thing I think when one has Killed some one knowingly and Willfully than he or she shoud be ready to tack reasonability for there actions and be but to death for what it has done.

Second Question

Here's everybody's second question for the day, this one isn't mandatory, though.

Does a person have to be important before they are considered assassinated instead of just plain murdered?

I read Stacey’s post An Eye For An Eye and most questions come to mind. Who are we to judge the sin of our man? Should a pedophile be eligible to judge the murderer? Why does society rank the good and bad things people do and then punish or reward them as they feel fit? If a murder a person who has gone crazy or are they perfectly sane when they kill? If they kill someone and they are judged clinically insane should they still be put on death row? And when they are on death row are they simply put there because society doesn’t want to deal with them?

Any thoughts? Opinions? Answers?

Eye for an Eye

Why should we (all of the working people of America) pay to support a killer? They gave up their rights when they murdered someone. If the murderer is sent to death row, we will have to feed, clothe, provide medical care, pay for their cable, and provide all the other necessary daily living items for the rest of their lives. Why should we? You kill someone, you don't deserve to live. Regardless of whether or not they have good behavior, they must pay for their crime. I say we need to cut down the time spent on death row. Many criminals stay on death row for years on end. There should be a time limit of how long they get to continue to live. Whoever they murdered didn't get to continue to live, why should they?

Capital Punishment

So what I know about capital punishment is that for the prosecutor to use it they have to go through trial first and find the person guilty. After that they go through another trial if the man/woman is high risk and they go through another trial but in this trial they have to prove why the person should get the capital punishment. I feel that they should not use capital punishment, that they should put all the high risk people in prison for life not kill them. If we kill them then wouldn't we also be killing?The other thing is people say we use capital punishment to help clear the prisons but if we want more room then we need to asses cases and parole the people who have good behavior and to also rethink the case. But here's a Question for you.


Do you think it is right for us to justify killing because we say that it is humane because they killed people first??

Currently the United States there is Capital Punishment (death penalty) in some way in most states, Unlike most countries around the world who have abolished Capital Punishment, we still hold strong in our believes that killing High Risk Prisoners* is still a solution.
The countries around the world are mostly European country's and many south American and pacific island states like Australia and New Zealand who have abolished Capital Punishment.
Countries that hold there Capital punishment strong are Mostly Asian and African/middle east countries and of course the United States.

So My question is this, tell me what you know about Capital Punishment and what are your views on Capital Punishment in the United States.

Torture?

Well here's a good question for everyone. I think we've all come to the conclusion that waterboarding in many cases is a neccessary evil (those of you that don't think so, please speak up, we need some opposition here) but my question is how evil is it really?
In comparison with other techniques we use to get information for terrorists, would you consider waterboarding torture? How 'torturous' is it? also, if you do not believe that waterboarding should be used at all, give us some alternatives, given the current terrorism situation. alright that's all I have right now. post some answers. and stuff.

Tuesday's Response (Since I wasn't invited until today): Food is for people who can't deal with starvation.

Wednesday: I think if necessary we should torture people to get information out of them. I also think it's not really all that inhumane, as the tortured is capable of stoping the torture at any time by spilling what information they hold.

Though I do think if the US is going to torture people from other nations to stop 'terrorism', they should accept that Americans will likely be captured and tortured as well. The middle east (and the rest of the world) are completely aware that we have nukes, their reasons to torture Americans for information are more valid than ours to torture them.

The bully of the world can certainly dish it out, actually taking it is harder. America doesn't play fair.

Torture should be a completely acceptable way to collect information, no matter how it's carried out or what country's government is responsible.

I prefer water skiing

When I first heard of this topic I thought of the sport - wakeboarding - not the torture. I kind of agree with Ned. I think it is wrong, but I also think it is necessary in some instances. I also think that they have given up some of their rights by this point and we have to do what we have to do to get answers. I think working to gain their trust isn't a realistic option, these people are trained to not give out answers and trying to become their friend just won't work. One thing I do know is that I don't want the job as a waterboarder!

I believe that waterboarding is a good thing even if it is a form of torture. If there are terrorists that are planning to do something to the country and the CIA finds out, I beilieve that the CIA should use waterboarding to get information on what might happen. So yes, I think that waterboarding is a good thing.

I don't feel good about endorsing waterboarding, but I'm going to do
it anyway. For all of the reasons you've already listed, in addition to the
fact that it's morally justifiable to torture someone when the lives of others
are at stake, I'll defend waterboarding. That being said, I think the whole
debate is much ado about nothing. Firstly, the people that are being tortured
through waterboarding forfeited any natural rights they may have had when
they took up the cause of death and religious intolerance in the first place.
Secondly, as a means of interrogation, waterboarding isn't the most effective
technique. As any interrogator will tell you, gaining the detainee's trust is
the most important factor in determining the success of an interrogation.
Unfortunately, this takes time and when you don't have that luxury, it is
morally defensible to subject them to waterboarding.

Reply To WATERBOARDING

Is waterboarding torture? Yes waterboarding is torture. But it is a necessary torture. Its easy to be a sensative human being and say "it creates hyrdrofobia. They get scared to see rain or even take a shower." Nonsense. These people getting interogated and waterboarded deserve it and are bad people. These people have killed innocents and if not then they will soon enough. People are getting killed because these people hate everything that doesent beleive in there religion. We just need to nuke them instead of waterboarding. There lucky they are even just getting waterboarded. They should get much worse for what they have done. We are not perfect, so we need to stop acting like it.

When it comes to this war, after they beheaded our soldiers on television and drug their burnt corpses Through the streets i don't much care how we get information from terrorists(humane or not). Tho i think re-runs of "The View" would be much more effective.

Alright so as the new leader of the Rivercity Super Blog I would like to start off with a all school prompt. The question I wish for you to blog about is the topic of Waterboarding. So now I will explain what waterboarding is.

Waterboarding: A form of torture used by the CIA for high risk prisoners of war who have openly/through other forms of torture informed the CIA they are terrorists planning on disrupting peace in the middle east. The CIA uses waterboarding to gain more information on proposed plans of terror so that the CIA can prevent the attack from striking and possably taking more lives in the middle east.
Now to waterboard somone is to place a peace of vinal cloth over ones mouth and slowly pour water in over the cloth...this forces a gag reflex that makes the tortured feel like they are drowning and ultimatly forcing them to break and pour information to the CIA.

The question that I wish for you to post is. What are your views on Waterboarding and should the United States use any form of torture to gain information?

The day we all gave up(another day at RLA)

Having attended RLA(a high school in which most would rather eat painfully hot peppers than learn about world issues) I have gained a sense of resentment towards society. The walls drip with time; wasted and drowning slowly into a bitter ending to another day. Each second is a rain drop in your eye; nothing fatal; just enough to make the time spent here more and more discouraging. Every day when I wake up I expect the men in white coats to pull me out of my bed like angels in a deleriant haze; I know they're here to throw me into solitary confinement again. I Pull a button off my coat before the doors slam shut and and the chains grow around me like vines. Perhaps if i can search for a button in the dark I won't secome to madness. And another month passes; no longer am I the person i was. A slight glimmer of frost like the harvest of another crop of ambition towed away in a truck and left to build up Valor again. Time is in itself a drug and will undoubtedly prove the most lethal. And time here is a dying bird in flight; we feel the wind under our wings but also the rain weighing us down; this can't go on forever. The desire to change or delude the sickness fades. The feathers on this southbound ship are soaked, freezing and veering north; we are alone in this grey blizzard sky and will surely loose sight of the shore. It's eyes quietly shutting in the docile labrinth of clouds never to gleam in light of the stars again; and we decend into the deadening black below without a hope of a clear breath or celing to remember.

Obesity?

I believe it makes no difference whether children are obese as they will perish in the great flood of 2012. But anyways, it's not the schools responsibility to get involved. Schools should provide healthy food options, but if your kid is still a fat ass it's your fault for not teaching him or her to stop eating. The responsibility should fall 100% on the parents until the child is 18 and then they can choose to acquire the ever growing number of obesity related illnesses on their own. Schools should be not a substitute for dumb parents, but unfortunately they've been given that role freely. In conclusion eat as much as you wish, but don't blame anyone else; not your parents, not your school, not Rosanne re-runs, not Mc Donald's commercials or anything else. We're all going to die soon anyway; if nothing else, please make the coffin possible for the survivors to move to the incinerator.

I'm fat and it's everyone's fault but mine.

So this entire debate on obesity has been going on in our country for quite some time. Now I don't hate you if your fat. It's probably your fault. While some people may be more susceptible to weight gain than others, people need to make measures to make sure that they are healthy. I do understand that my Mountain Dew and Reman habits may not be entirely healthy, but that's not what we're talking about now. It is my personal belief, that people have been pointing fingers, and blaming others, for their own personal problems. Just because those four double quarter pounders with cheese look so delicious, and because parents can't say no their their chilred when they want some McDonalds, doesn't mean McDonalds is to blame. Just because people think they have to eat that fatty greasy burger, doesn't mean they have to right to sue the people making the food. Take matters into your own hands for once. Just because you are fat, doesn't mean I should have to put up with eating the crappy low fat fries, that replaced the greatest tasting potatoe product of the 21st century. Just because the state you live in is big, doesn't mean you have to be too. I'M TALKING TO YOU TEXAS!

No Fat Chicks

Hello RiverCity students! Though I am not an attendee at your school I felt like adding my “2 cents”.

As I sit here, in my living room, I am thwarted by a longing to have something delicious grace my pallet. Am I hungry? No, not really. But those jalapeno potato chips, to my left, sure do look appealing. I suppose I could go upstairs and prepare myself a healthy snack instead of eating those. But, again I’m not really hungry and that would take too much effort. Eventually I will give in to the craving and guzzle down a couple handfuls of chips, happily licking my fingers between swallows.

You see, junk food is not only tasty, but it is virtually devoid of any preparation. A quick meal from a fast food restaurant is notably alluring after a hard days work. The cost is easy on the wallet as well.

After eating such a meal, one is sure to feel tired and unproductive. It’s easy to spend countless hours in front of the T.V. “relaxing”.

This endless cycle is just one of the many relying factors of obesity. But like any unhealthy addiction, there must be preventative steps taken to ensure the end of it. Should the schools be responsible for this? In some ways, yes. They can promote healthy lifestyles and offer alternatives to otherwise harmful foods. But there is only so much a school can do. Ultimately, people should take charge of their own lives. Though, it sounds much easier than it actually is. To make life changes, one needs a support system to help them along the way, be it friends or family.

Of course, if doing the whole diet and exercise thing is too demanding, just invest in the ol’ eating disorder.

Obesity is a problem, but not a skool's problem. Skool is not a replacement parent for kids whose parents are never around. Skool is not a daycare.

Well. I dont like fat people. For the majority of them cry abotu how there fat while they sit on there couch eating cake with a deep fryer off to the table on the right of the couch. If you werent so insecure and used food to make you happy then you wouldnt be in that position.

For the people that just have natural fatness haha. Take steps to not be fat. Being fat is a choice. Dont be lazy.

Schools dont have the responsobility to make sure someone is in good health unless they know the student is in danger.

You see that bird on the left there. If I were to tell you what he’s been through I would have to eat some very happy meatloaf. It all started out by me getting my regular cup of coffee when I heard a knock on the door. I went to go open it when BOOM ZOMBIES. It all started out when he killed his mom, but she happened to leave the speaker on while she was calling her work while she got killed so now he had to kill her coworkers. They worked at aflack a car insurance company. He ate a lot of tasty nachos so his brain could expand to be able to see hungry books. But his brain expanded too much and exploded leaving a huge hole in his head giving him a demon cowish look. He loaded up on ammo and packed heavy. He took the ventilation and planted tons of smoke bombs. But he noticed when he jumped out of the ventilation BOOM ZOMBIES. The zombies where attacking the vending machines which fueled the employees minds. So now most of the other workers turned into zombies. It was a massacre the remaining workers held it out and made their last stand in the lunch room. They used forks and spoons to fight. He took advantage of what was happening and came through the back of the lunch room and killed all the remaining workers by cutting their throats or strangling them. In the process he broke the barricade and the demon zombies flooded in and killed the remaining duffering workers. He then quickly ran to the staff room to grab the EMERGENCY CHAINSAW.
He then used it to kill some 8,482,113,521 demon zombies. Which by then he ran out of gas and started to use his machete. As he was making his last stand he noticed his brother stumble into the room. His brother’s legs where eaten off by the demon zombies. His brother then cried out “help me”. In response to what his brother said he then used the flag pole to beat and impale his neck with until there was a reasonable amount of blood leaking, which then he used his dull machete to finish him off with. He then made an attempt to get to the roof to get to the helicopter, but as he was ascending up the stairs inflamed couches at the speed 364 mph were falling in his path. He then lost his legs, three livers, his only heart (which he has two of) one eye, two waffles, and other stuff that really didn’t have anything to do with intentional paper clippings in the process. He then suffered 68 hours of bleeding and excruciating pain due to not being able to eat his leftovers, which were just out of reach. After the incident with the lawnmower he then crawled to the roof and signaled to his helicopter that his brother (that died) was piloting, who was drunk. He then fended the remaining demon zombies with book called ”how to cook with no salt”. As the helicopter approached the zombies that were being beating to death by his book fell over the edge and caught the helicopter’s propellers on the way down, which then caused his brother to crash into him. His brother was disintegrated in a 83 ft radius. He then spent his last moments eating tacos with no gravy yes I said no gravy as he was being devoured be demon zombies. In the end he suffered for 684 hours, bleed 1827 gallons, failed to reach his leftovers, and is still suffering as we speak due to a lack of gravy even though he was devoured by the demon zombies. In the very end he didn’t get to ride the happy unicorns over the happy elf filled rainbow. In the very depressing end he killed himself using two barrels of floss, eight suitcases and a used doorknob.

The Area I Am Supposed To Collect Knowledge In..

Well once again i shall write a entry into our School blog.

This day is coming to an end.
Well i have decided to talk about how my area that i sit in is an utter disgrace to all schools.
We have Arron, Leslie, Bryce, Me [Brandon], Henry and Usamah. This isnt the first day that our room looked like a hurricane had hit. Day after day we all agree that our area is horrible. But does anything happen to prevent it from getting dirty everyday? No infact it does not. It is hard to work in such an enviorment when one day your books and papers are on your desk and the next day its either on the floor from the goons that screw around after school or strewn on a desk across the room. This will bring me to another blog i will write in a few minutes. We need to quit letting not only our area but the class rooms areas. We need to work on holding our school together kids.

My oppinion on Water Boarding.

My name is Brandon. I enjoy long walks on the beach and going to candle lit dinners. I am going to express my opinion on water boarding. It is a highly debated topic. Many say that water boarding is un-american. I think that water boarding is a necessary torture. We dont use the technique on every person we think is a terrorist. We use it only on top terrorists that withold valuable and key information. The debate is that one side is for water boarding to get key information. The side against is saying that its cruel and inhumane to torture a human like this. Becuase it can cause mental damage. Think about this,would you ruin one persons life in order to save more lifes. If we dont get this information out before anything goes down then people will die and not only will victims be affected but also the families of these families. If we were to get information from Bin Laden then the terrorist attack wouldnt have happened. I may be wrong with my supporting facts but i still stand by water boarding is a necessary torture.

A blog of hotsauce, and death

As you may see from the title, this hot sauce doesn't "mess around" as we like to say. it has scared and disabled many fine and valiant digestive systems for life! LIFE!!! the menace known as the devils anus must be stopped before it can cause more damage to children and food-fanatics everywhere.
it was a day just like today. in fact it was today. i was chilling with my peeps in Ned's room, when Henry offered me the hot sauce. i was reluctant at first, but peer pressure got to me eventually. i had a sip....*snivel* i haven't been able to eat Ramon since. that hot sauce Has caused me serious mental, and physical scarring. i have been.......sterile since that day.
in summary, we need to bring more defenses against the forefront of hot sauce, and destroy the scourge before it destroys us!!!!! that is all.

100% PAIN of death

When i put the drop of 100% pain in my mouth it was like i walked into hell because of 100% pain i lost all my family all my friends to this devilish blood. they....they ...all FELL INTO A LAKE OF FIRE which i sooner joined. it was so intense that i wanted to cut off my tongue. i don't want to talk about it so this is the end as my soul slowly catches on fire.

100% PAIN This was the account of when the devil came up from the fiery doom iteself and had licked my tongue.

It was a normal school day. Everyone was at school having a good jolly time. Henry arrived casualy and slumped down in his chair. Staring at everyone behind his eyes of death, he slowly yet surely pulled out what was soon to be then end of my life. At first i saw it and was like " fo sho sun I try that bizzy." Henry laughed a cackling laugh as all the lights dimmed and lighting striked the outside tree. When the lights returned back to there normal color and the lightning outside halted we all got into a little circle. There was the weird kid that wears make-up known as Bryce. Jake the unexplainable. Henry the Mysterious and me Brandon the face. I should have stopped it right when I had the chance to. Right when Henry the Mysterious unscrewed that cap slowly my soul slowly left my body. There was a rumble coming from the bottle. The lights went out. The only source of light was this bottle of 100% Pain. We all took a shot of the Fire itself at the same time. When there was a explosion. Everyone fell out of there seat and a giant hole opened in the center of the cirlce. A demon slowly jumped out. He pulled our tongues out at the same time. He jumped on our tongues with his black hooves. The he ran it over with his caddilac. He jumped back into his whole. It was over never to be talked about again until now. That day the devil had licked my tongue. The Legend lives on.
