Capital Punishment

So what I know about capital punishment is that for the prosecutor to use it they have to go through trial first and find the person guilty. After that they go through another trial if the man/woman is high risk and they go through another trial but in this trial they have to prove why the person should get the capital punishment. I feel that they should not use capital punishment, that they should put all the high risk people in prison for life not kill them. If we kill them then wouldn't we also be killing? The other thing is people say we use capital punishment to help clear the prisons but if we want more room then we need to asses cases and parole the people who have good behavior and to also rethink the case. But here's a Question for you.

Do you think it is right for us to justify killing because we say that it is humane because they killed people first??

I think that given the imperfect nature of our justice system - I.E. it often convicts the innocent and lets the guilty walk based on socio-economic standing - combined with the fact that the actions of our public institutions - I.E. the courts - are a direct reflection of the collective will of the citizenry - I.E. every time someone is executed, we're all pulling the trigger - I believe the concept of capital punishment in 21st century America is fatally flawed and should be banned. That being said, we do have a proud historical legacy of "frontier justice" in which the guilty are shown no mercy that deserves respect as well....

Yes I agree in todays day and age tomany inocent people get put to death but also look at the many people that have been stoped from killing. Our justice system is good but not the best. So ned I ask you. Do you think that we are right in justifing why we kill?
But yes we all pull the triger because we are the jury that votes them guilty.
