9/11, Liberty, The NSA, and You

Do you think the NSA knows about this blog? Do you think they read all of your posts? Does it even matter?

Well, how about this question: What personal liberties, if any, would you be willing to sacrifice in order to maintain national security?

I have mixed feelings about this blog post. They probably heard about this blog from one of the keywords in one of the posts. Maybe one of the posts Sama made about the war...
Or just the moment this blog was created, they got it, and ever since have been seen, every post, thread, view...

I'd be willing to sacrifice most of my personal liberties - On the internet of course, even some offline- to keep others safe.
I don't know, I suppose I didn't have much to say on this one; The Nova thing spoke for itself.

If the NSA really is watching the RLA blog, they're probably STILL wondering why the early bloggers were writing about hot sauce...

The NSA reading the blog seems like a great way to waste the time of inteligence-gathering agents who might otherwise be collecting useful information. Not that the blog should hop aboard the Fail Boat, but it seems that searching meticulously through america's emails and chatrooms all day, every day, is a little impractible and/or hopeless. The NSA should probably just buy a giant pulsating Superintelligence that knows everything about everyone in the world. This way they can consult the Superintelligence with any National Security-related inquiry.

Oh, and I'm debating with myself about my personal liberties. The privacy rights of a cup of tapioca pudding are murky and/or ambiguous.

I think that if we sacrifice our privacy in order to save one or a couple hundred lives is something all Americans can and should do. Isn't that what our country is about, making sacrifices for the greater good, the good of ourselves, the good of the people and the good of America.

i disagree. it is our constitutional right to have our privacy, and giving that up is your choice, but dont make it mine for me. plus, on the internet you dont really have a right to privacy. i mean right now on this blog i could check someones email, refrence the email site claiming to be your friend and find out who you are, where you live and your phone number. the internet does not apply to the right to privacy as it is a free network wherein you submit yourself to the risks of identity capture and fraud. just my .02 cents

I think as long as the top dogs has good will I would have no worries abut giveing up my personal liberties. I think personal liberties gives off a lot of stupidity right now anyway, we cued be so much better as a Society if key points where gone.
